Episode Summary:
In this powerful and eye-opening episode, returning guest Amy Siple shares an urgent update on her ongoing battle with the Board of Nursing. What began as a simple lapse in license renewal during a family health crisis has evolved into a years-long legal fight exposing serious flaws in nursing oversight, disciplinary processes, and state regulatory systems.

Amy discusses the administrative hearing she lost, her upcoming judicial appeal, and the constitutional issues at stake — particularly around due process and First Amendment rights. She also reveals the nationwide scale of unnecessary disciplinary actions, how minor clerical errors can permanently destroy a nurse’s career, and the shocking lack of oversight over state boards.

Beyond her personal case, Amy has become a national advocate, rallying legislators, nurses, and policymakers to reform the system. Her efforts have sparked bipartisan support, public hearings, and the development of model legislation aimed at protecting nurses from punitive, inconsistent, and harmful discipline practices.

This is required listening for every nurse, nursing student, and healthcare leader.
